Blush Novelties Avant D6 Electra Dildo Review Courtesy of Betty's Toybox
Updated: Sep 14, 2020

Introduction:
I’ve said it time and time again on this blog: I really like Blush Novelties. They make a wide range of products to cover every toy category in body-safe materials (well, the products I review/recommend are body-safe) and their stuff is reasonably inexpensive. And their stuff is cute! Like really cute! This review is going to be structured a little differently than my usual reviews because the Avant D6 is an objectively awesome product (unsurprising), but it didn't really meet the advertised purpose. The goal of this review will be to help you determine whether this specific dildo in this Avant line would be a good fit for you and your needs or whether you’d prefer one of Blush’s other offerings.
Pros:
- Super cute (gorgeous tri-color, striped design)
- Inexpensive
- Solid size (7 inches insertable length and 1.75 inches max diameter)
- Versatile base (suction cup, harnessable, anal-safe)
Depends On The User:
- Firm but not hard silicone (some bend but no squish)
- Completely straight
- Indent before base (on shaft)
- Non-representational
- Tapered head
Cons:
- Weak suction cup (couldn't get it to stay on anything for more than a minute)

Okay, so this dildo is marketed as a g-spot dildo, and I gotta be honest: I don't know why. It’s straight and firm and doesn’t have any protruding bits to rub the g-spot in passing, nor does it feel right to this lady to waste the length on shallow thrusts. I mean it’s girthy enough to give stimulation to my whole vaginal canal so I guess in that sense it’s a g-spot dildo, but I really wouldn’t market it that way. And the length! Why make a dildo with 7 inches of insertable length to only stimulate the g-spot? That kind of length screams deeper penetration to me...
Where this dildo really excels--for me--is in a-spot pressure. The tapered and flatter shape of the head works excellently to slip into my a-spot, and the firm silicone allows for some really solid positioning and stimulation. The consistently-wide shaft stretches open the mouth of my vaginal canal and offers a nice fullness to the rest of my vagina. Also, a brief lesson since it’s relevant to this review:
The A-spot:
The Anterior Fornix (also known as the a-spot) is an erogenous zone in the vaginal canal near the cervix, about three inches inward from the g-spot (aka urethral sponge or internal clitoris) along the front wall of the vagina.
Not all folx enjoy stimulation of genital erogenous zones like the clitoris, g-spot, a-spot, and p-spot (posterior fornix for vulva owners or prostate for penis owners) but for those who do, a lot of sex toys are made with the intent of stimulating specific ones. By far the most marketed towards are the g-spot, clitoris, and prostate but some A-spot toys exist (like the Uberrime Night King and A-spot Avengers. If anyone wants my undying love, send me one of these). More often than not, I find that longer dildos with thoughtfully-shaped heads can work well for my a-spot.

I love the deep, powerful punch of a-spot stimulation combined with overall vaginal fullness, or stretch if you will. It’s great for strong, resonant orgasms that leave me feeling the good kind of dizzy. The firm silicone feels more rigid and dramatic than a dildo of the same size in a squisher material and the velvet matte finish common with the avant line calls for ample lube. These statements are not meant to deter you, just to serve as guidance such that you can wamr up and lube up correctly to enjoy this toy (instead of having it rub you the wrong way).
This dildo is alright for harness play but the divot at the bottom of the shaft can make it a bit unwieldy since the thick shaft needs a decently sized (or stretchy) O-ring. Not unusable but just not the *most* stable. Alternately, this divot could make the dildo easier to grip at the base, especially for folx with smaller hands so you'll have to make the call on that feature for yourself.
Bottom Line:
Overall, the Avant D6 is a beautiful and really well-made dildo that I’d recommend to folx looking for some size and firmness with minimal texture and a tapered head (click here to buy it). If you like the idea of this dildo but the shape doesn't seem quite right for you, check out the rest of Blush Novelties Avant line for the same beautiful construction and bright colors with different shapes and sizes.
